Duchenne UK attends the opening of new Clinical Research Facility at Leeds Children's Hospital and announces £108,324 of funding for research posts

Last Thursday, our co-founder Alex Johnson attended the opening of the Clinical Research Facility at Leeds Children's Hospital which has recently joined the DMD Hub.

We are investing £108,324 to fund a new clinical fellow and neuromuscular coordinator. We are delighted that Leeds Children’s Hospital is joining the DMD Hub and are pleased to be able to fund these posts as part of our mission to expand clinical trial capacity in the UK through the DMD Hub.

Dr. Anne-Marie Childs, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Leeds Children's Hospital said:

"The NM team at Leeds Children's Hospital were delighted to receive funding from Duchenne UK to support the appointment of a new clinical fellow and neuromuscular coordinator. These posts will be critical in our aim of expanding the research opportunities for those living with DMD in Yorkshire, allowing more families to take part in clinical trials nearer home. We hope to open 2 further interventional studies later this year but have also seen the benefits of being research 'active' on our clinical service. We are very grateful for the support of Duchenne UK and the Duchenne Hub and look forward to working together in the future."
