Duchenne UK is guided by the rigours of science, and driven by the passion of mothers. We are hugely grateful to the scientists and clinicians who work with us to help identify promising treatments and innovative proposals. Not only do they review projects, they make recommendations and suggestions based on their experience and expertise to help ensure our projects are as efficient and productive as possible.

Our Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) is a fundamental part of our project review process – and ensures our supporters’ donations are being invested in the right projects to advance the DMD field. For several years now, we have been proud to work with the following experts:

• Prof Annemieke Aartsma-Rus, Leiden University Medical Centre, Netherlands
• Dr Eric Hoffman, ReveraGen Biopharma, Canada
• Prof Dame Kay Davies, University of Oxford, UK
• Steve Winder, University of Sheffield, UK
• Dirk Fischer, University Children’s Hospital Basel, Switzerland
• Dr Dada Pisconti, Stonybrook University, USA

These are all researchers at the top of their field and are generous enough to share their expertise and knowledge, regardless of the huge demands on their time.

Given the expanding remit of Duchenne UK’s work and the variety of projects which we support, we are delighted to announce that four new researchers will be joining our SAB:
