Duchenne UK CEO takes part in female carrier workshop
Not much is known about the health states of carriers of the Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) gene – whether it is mothers or siblings who carry the gene. Similarly, not much is known about what’s known as manifesting carriers: typically girls or women who carry the gene and display symptoms of DMD, without having the full disease.
Duchenne UK CEO Emily Crossley took part in a scientific workshop to try to understand more about being a carrier of the DMD gene, and help to address the unmet needs of this patient group. Find out more and read the report from the workshop here.
