Duchenne UK launch third Minecraft Creative Build Competition for young people affected by DMD

We’re excited to announce the launch of Duchenne UK’s Minecraft Creative Build Competition for children and young people with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and their siblings this August.

This will be our third Minecraft competition, which gives young people affected by DMD a chance to get creative and build their own worlds on the popular video game. You can read about last year’s event and view the winning builds here.

Who is it for?

This year we have three categories: under 10s, 11 – 16s and over 16s. Any young person with DMD living in the UK and their siblings are welcome to take part.

How to get involved

This year, we’re asking young people to design their own theme park. The deadline to take part is 30th August 2021.

Step 1: Register to take part by filling out our registration form.

Step 2: Start building!

Once you have registered you can start building straight away. Participants can build on their own Minecraft game at home on their chosen device.

Step 3:  Send a photo or walkthrough video of your build to Duchenne UK for judging. You can also submit photos and a written description of your build instead.

Final build submissions should be sent to [email protected]. If your files are too large to send in an email please send via WeTransfer online for free.

Judging and winner announcements will take place in September.

If you have any further questions, please contact [email protected].

Best of luck builders!
