Tim Peake Tweets Us From Space

British astronaut Tim Peake has tweeted about our Duchenne Max cycling team from the International Space Station, where work on the science of DMD is being undertaken.

His support for the Duchenne Max is well deserved. The Max is a team of 10 cyclists headed by Alasdair Robertson, father of Felix, who was diagnosed with Duchenne in 2015. They are cycling from John O’ Groats before joining the official Duchenne Dash – our annual 24-hour London to Paris bike ride. Altogether they will ride 1018 miles in 8 days in support of Duchenne UK.

Legendary Scottish rugby star Gavin Hastings has already joined the team for part of the journey. Their target is £250,000.

Alasdair is the chair of our Patient Advisory Board and is also the parent member of our Scientific Advisory Board.
