We are the Claughton Family.
Josh was diagnosed with Duchenne when he was 2 and half after we raised concerns about his delay in walking. Since that time we have been on a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Josh is a happy kid who loves trying new food and playing computer games. He has participated in the Blood Bowl World Cup (a Warhammer fantasy football game) and loves painting models to add to his team. We love getting out for walks with our Dog, Leo and try to go swimming as frequently as we can.
Over the years, Josh has been on a number of drug trials and is currently participating in a trial. Trials are time consuming things, he goes to hospital every few weeks. But this commitment is helping scientists to find effective treatments for Duchenne. At present, there is no cure for Duchenne and scientists all over the world are working on potential treatments.
Duchenne UK is an amazing charity working tirelessly to accelerate these treatments to become widely available on the NHS. We are very proud to add Josh’s Warriors as a Family & Friends Fund for this amazing cause.
