The DMD Hub is a network of trial sites - and staff - trained and funded to carry out clinical trials for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

The DMD Hub was born out of an ambition of Emily and Alex – co-founders of Duchenne UK – to give every child diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the chance to take part in research.

Four years later, we are delighted to say that, as a result of the DMD Hub, 19 DMD clinical staff are now in place; 6 hospitals are running additional trials, and 197 more boys are taking part in clinical trials – more than ever before in the UK.

Duchenne UK has invested £1.5million to fund doctors, nurses and support staff to run DMD Clinical Trials. The DMD Hub’s also helps hospitals achieve the requirements set by industry to run clinical trials by providing training, mentoring and resources.

Duchenne UK’s mission for the DMD Hub is to ensure that all patients with DMD, including children and adults, have the opportunity to access clinical research opportunities.

We are thrilled that the DMD Hub is impacting profoundly and positively on patients’ lives.
